Blue and Skeeter are wonderful eager to please velcro dogs. They would love nothing more than to spend the day curled up next to you or out exploring and being active. They have a lot of energy but are just as happy being couch potatoes. They are 7 year old Beagle terrier mixes who were found dumped together as puppies. Blue has been known to be too smart for his brother's own good and is good at distracting him to get the toy or person he wants. Skeeter is just happy to be around his brother and a person who will give him the most attention possible. They are very eager to please and love to learn, if it makes their people happy. Skeeter sometimes needs a bit of extra time to figure out new things, but he'll watch his brother and figure it out. They both need a bit of help learning how to be a dog again and that people come back. They are great boys and if someone is willing to help them learn they'll pick it up quick. They haven't been socialized in 3 years but previously went to doggy daycare. They needed a close eye but we're progressing at the time. They'd need some time before becoming another dogs friend. They haven't met any cats or young children before. They have the instincts of a hunting dog, usually happily retrieving live animals. They've met pet rats previously and gotten a bit too excited for their own good. They've been better with smaller dogs than larger dogs but living with other types of small animals would probably not be the best. Blue needs some help overcoming some resource guarding behavior but is a wonderful dog once he can be reassured there will always be enough for him from now on. These boys are full of love and life and would love nothing more than to have a good pawrent or family to share it with.

Reese’s is a very easygoing laid back senior. Loves to snuggle on the couch and nibble on his stuffies. Doesn’t like to be alone will do best with someone who is home most of the day. He gets along with calmer dogs.

Anders is a young pup with a heart of gold. He’s playful and can entertain himself with his toys! He’s a smart cookie too! He is very eager to please and responds quickly to training and correction. He prefers love over treats. Anders LOVES hanging out in the yard, snuggling in bed, being loved on, other dogs, going for walks, being with his people, and tennis balls! In the house and out in the yard, he comes when called. He’ll play with you, another dog, or just by himself! When corrected, Anders will stop. He currently lives with 2 resident dogs and a cat and seems to like them all. Because of his robust personality and all-out play style, no small children for Anders. BlueBeard is 6-7 years old. He enjoys getting out to explore and sniff, but settles in easily at home. No drama, no chaos, just a genuinely good boy who is happy to be here with us. 

He’s about 40 lbs (medium-sized), sleeps in his kennel at night or when we’re out, and loves to curl up nearby while you relax or work. BlueBeard was a favorite with shelter staff and volunteers—he really is that special kind of fur baby! 

BlueBeard is house trained and doesn't get up on the furniture, even though we've told him he can.  Such a polite young man!  He'll instead curl up on a rug or a comfy blanket near his people.  He's very gentle with treats, enjoys kongs, stuffed toys or a gentle game of tug.  He also knows a few commands like "sit" and "wait".

Puppy is an English Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is looking for an active family seeking a fun dog that likes to play fetch, swim, and go for walks and car rides. He walks great on leash and is extremely driven to play ball. He needs to be an only pet (no cats, no dogs) and a yard or open area to run and play. Puppy can be in a home with children 10 yrs and older.

Doula is currently being fostered by the Founder of Dogs Are Deserving Rescue.  Doula is the perfect houseguest as she is completely housebroken, doesn't need to be crated, is affectionate, and loves car rides!  She knows basic commands, loves human affection, especially belly rubs and loves to play with her toys!  She walks nicely on a leash, and takes her treats gently.   Doula does need to be an "only dog".  She's waiting to meet you!

Raphael, a sweet dog who has made remarkable progress with his trainer, is now ready to find his forever home. He loves all treats and loves to play fetch. When he first arrived, he had been through so much and struggled to trust others, so he couldn’t be around dogs. However, he is now happy to meet people and could even go on pack walks with other dogs. Despite his rough start, Raphael is a good boy.

Callum is a lover boy!  He loves to be by your side and will follow you around the house.  He melts into you while sitting close.  He loves going for walks and is great in the car.  He loves getting his zoomies out and runs laps around the backyard.  He is super athletic and his build is on the small side.  He gets compliments wherever he goes because he has beautiful eyes.  When we picked him up from the shelter he was extremely head-shy and was scared to walk through doorways.  He has come along way.  He is happy once he knows he is safe.  Callum would do best with someone who is home a lot and would prefer to be an only dog.  Has some separation anxiety.  Would do wonderful in an agility class.  He can jump (bounce) high.  He has a high prey drive.

Sweetest dog!! Cuddly and gentle. Good with kids. Doesn’t mind cats. Will bark at dogs on other side of fence when in our yard. Loves to sunbathe.

Radar is just a year old. This happy boy is all soft and gentle. He prefers close hugs over sitting (though don’t worry, he will sit if you ask.)  Out in the yard, he’s a shade lover who likes to stay close to his person. Radar thrives on affection, is super polite with treats,  He’s had great leash tests with other dogs, and he’s just plain friendly with everyone he meets.

Banderita is a super playful and very happy dog. There is not a mean bone in her body. She gets along well with my other rescue dog Ellie. They are constantly playing so Banderita would probably annoy an older dog that isn’t as into playing. She is about 90% house trained. Walks ok on the leash but she is just over a year old so she is still learning.

Affectionate,silly, and a bit skiddish. Lucy has tons of love to give and once she gets comfortable is a total snuggle buddy. Don't let the cuddly side fool you because she's also always down for some fetch, with a weakness for tennis balls. She will need a slow introduction to other dogs and should probably live in a cat free home. She wants to be everybody's friend and will show that with a toothy smile.

Everest is a sweet, affectionate pup who loves being close to his favorite people — he’ll happily be your shadow and sidekick and often rests his head in your hands for the ultimate snuggle. He’s steadily building confidence every day and is curious about the world around him, always ready to explore at his own pace.

Everest has plenty of puppy energy and loves to hop around in the backyard like a little bunny. He enjoys his walks, meeting other pups, and playing once he settles in. He’s also very well house-trained and understands “no,” so he balances fun with good manners.

Betty Boop is a senior girl who's looking for a calm home to spend her golden years. She prefers slow days, cozy spots, and just being near her person. She is not big on high energy activities, but every now and then she will surprise you with a tiny hop or burst of personality. She loves to walk around the yard and sniff everything.

Cortina is a very obedient and super friendly dog. She gets along with and plays great with my other two female dogs. Both of which are smaller than her. She is not an alpha and takes corrections from the other two when needed.

Bella Donna is the sweetest girl with the most loving personality. She's completely house trained and has never had an accident in the home. Sally Sue is still coming out of her shell but, so far, she is a cuddly bundle of energy. She loves to follow you everywhere and nap on your lap ALL day. She's just learning how to play with her foster brother and is beginning to show interest in toys. She is very food-motivated and her "sit" command is coming along nicely. She craves your love and will reward you with thousands of kisses. She's very eager to please! Hops is a male mix breed (possibly Jack Russell Terrier) boy about 2 years old who loves to play fetch and tug of war. Hops is full of energy and friendly with dogs and people. Although Hops is small in stature, he is pretty strong. Hops would fit in with a family who doesn’t mind taking him on walks and keeping him entertained.

Corbin has some puppy energy, but also has a calm relaxing side. Treat motivated. Thinks he's a lap puppy, big ol goofball. Always has a smile on his face! Loves to play tug of war and fetch. Getting better at giving the ball back when you say drop it. If he gets to excited while playing, tell him easy and he eases up. He's very loving and always wants attention. Very smart and quick learner. Still working on the jumping up on people, but he's getting better with trying to hold his excitement. He is absolutely amazing with kids.  He has barely barked or acted overly excited with other dogs unless he sees they are friendly, then he wants to play. He does not like hoses!

Mila is an absolute ball of love. She may not have had the best start in life, but you would never know it from her joyful spirit. Mila is a beautiful tricolor “shorty” girl, around 3–4 years old and approximately 58 pounds (even though she sometimes looks bigger in photos!). She is incredibly affectionate, happy, and simply grateful for her second chance at life.

Her favorite thing in the world is being around her people. Whether she’s lounging nearby, riding shotgun in the car or rolling around in the grass, Mila is happiest just being part of the family. She’s an excellent sidekick! She truly has the sweetest soul.

Mila is housetrained and sleeps in her crate with the door open. She happily goes into her crate on her own and sometimes chooses to relax there, but she does not like the crate door being closed — likely because she spent too much time confined before being rescued.

She’s very easygoing and low-maintenance overall. Mila doesn’t need tons of exercise and is content with yard time and snuggles. She does like walks but doesn’t need them. She walks nicely on a harness, rides great in the car, does well at the vet, and is fantastic for baths. She has also been the perfect houseguest — no chewing, no getting into things, no begging — she mostly just wants love and companionship.

Mila likes most other dogs and so far seems to be more of a co-exister than an active playmate. She would likely do best with a tolerant dog companion, as she doesn’t always read other dogs’ social cues perfectly yet. She does chase squirrels in the yard, so she is probably not a good fit for cats, though she has not been officially cat-tested.
